γ-PGA is a homogeneous polypeptide (Homo-polypeptide) made by polymerization of left and right optical glutamic acid as a monomer with an amide bond at the γ-position, with a degree of polymerization of 1,000-15,000. γ-(D,L)-PGA, γ-(D)-PGA, and γ-(L)-PGA are collectively referred to as γ-PGA.
